Ceramics Workshops at the Studio
Two ways to learn wheel-throwing in a small-group setting. Choose between a full three-session workshop, where you follow the entire process from clay to finished piece, or a single evening at the wheel if you simply want to try it or ease back into it.
All sessions start at 17:30. The three-session workshop runs about three and a half hours on Monday, then two-hour sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. The evening runs about three and a half hours.
FAQ
How many pieces can I make?
Three-Session Workshop · You can create and glaze around 5–6 pieces during the course, depending on your pace and the size of the forms you choose. Each one will be fired and finished with your own glaze selection.
One-Session Evening · You usually finish around 4–5 pieces in one evening. The studio trims and glazes them for you afterwards, using a glaze you select on the night.
Do I need any previous experience?
No. Both formats are suitable for complete beginners as well as for anyone who's already spent some time at the wheel and wants to keep practising.
What should I wear?
Clothes that can get messy. Aprons are provided. Keep fingernails short; long ones make centring difficult.
What's included in the fee?
Three-Session Workshop · All materials, tools, glazes, and both firings are included. You'll have everything you need to throw, trim, and glaze your pieces.
One-Session Evening · All materials, tools, glazes, and firings are included. You throw the pieces during the evening; the studio handles trimming and glazing afterwards with a glaze you choose.
What if I miss a session?
The three-session course runs as a fixed block. Missed sessions can't be rescheduled or refunded.
When can I pick up my pieces?
About two to three weeks after the last (or only) session: the time the kiln needs for bisque and glaze firing. The exact day is in your booking summary.
When will I receive all details?
About a week before your first session, you'll receive an email with all the information you need; studio address, what to bring, and what to wear.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. Pick "Not sure about the date yet" in the calendar; a voucher option opens, digital or printed by post, redeemable for any upcoming session.
Which language are the workshops in?
Sessions are held in German. If you'd prefer, individual guidance in English is available on request.
